Home again and Smiling

So i woke up at 3.06am this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep. So i am collecting my thoughts together from my trip and soon will be posting some of them down, I am also going to be posting 2 lists. The things that ROCK about USA and the things that SUCK about USA.

Also glad its warm as here is a picture of me on the last day in NY with 20% chance of snow.

Statue of my Ass…

So after getting up really early to get into town to start our NY experience we end up at the Ferry port to get across to the Statue of Liberty. First off everybody is commenting on how small it is, i knew it wasn’t that big and was excited to get across to get up into her head.

We pay $12 for ticket and head to the ferry only to be greeted by SECURITY and after 30min and taking off just about all of our clothes we are allowed to get onto the boat. We take a 30min trip across the water on a grey day and finally arrive to go into statue to be told we got to put our bags into a locker. After taking a few minutes to find it and being charged to leave our bags behinde we head back inside. Only to be greated by another SECURITY check, this time with a chemical detector. I mean lets think about this for a minute, where was i going to get a BOMB from…between checkpoints…i mean really.. So after another 40min wait we are finally in and heading up…AND here come my favourite part…..

You can only go about 8 STORIES UP…you cant even go into the body of her and on a crap grey day you can’t see any more than you can see from the boat. so it takes us 20min to get down and we run towards the Ferry about to leave and as we get to the gate, they close it…YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME…30min wait for the next boat.

So finally 4 hrs later we back on mainland. What a load of CRAP…that’s how our day began…

The big apple has a worm in it ladies and gentleman.

Looking forward to see what adventures tomorrow will bring, at least i will have Vaseline with me tomorrow
